  • Lemosho 7-8 Days has a success rate of 90-95% with low crowds and excellent Acclimatization with stunning views.
  • Machame 7 Days has 85-90% with moderate crowd level and good acclimatization.
  • Northern circuit 8-9 Days with 90-95% success rate and very low crowd level with best Acclimatization, a maximum summit chance, this is the longest route with a full mountain circle.
  • Rongai 6-7 Days with 85-90% success rate having low crowds and good acclimatization, this is the drier northern side and good during rainy seasons
  • Marangu 5-6 Days with 65-75% having high crowds and poor acclimatization, this is best for budget and short trip travelers.

We recommend 7+ day routes because shorter ones risk with lower success rates.

Best time to climb kilimanjaro 2026

Dry seasons have clear views, safer trails and high success

  • January – March : Warm, fewer crowds, good visibility
  • June- October: Peak season, stable weather, epic sunrises ( Early booking for this)

Sickness prevention & Training tips

Altitude mountain sickness is the number 1 reason for failed summits, prevent it through

  • Choose longer routes for gradual ascent
  • Hydrating 3-4 L/day , take Diamox ( Also consult a doctor)
  • Slowly pace, climb high/ speed low “Pole Pole”
  • Monitor Symptoms ( Headache, nausea) descend if severe
  • Train at least 3-6 months ahead
  • Cardio, hike, walk 5-10km with elevation 3-5x / week
  • Strength squat , lunges with backpack 10-15kg
  • Practice high altitude hikes if possible
