Overview
\\n
Nyerere National Park was created in 2019 from the northern section of the former Selous Game Reserve, one of the largest protected wilderness areas in Africa. Cut through by the wide, meandering Rufiji River and its network of lakes and channels, Nyerere offers something very few Tanzanian parks can: boat safaris, alongside traditional game drives and walking safaris, across a landscape that feels genuinely remote.
\\n
With low visitor numbers relative to its size, this is prime territory for travelers seeking an authentic bush experience away from other vehicles.
