Day-by-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arusha → Tarangire National Park

    Depart Arusha in the morning and drive southwest to Tarangire National Park, renowned for having one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania and a landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive on arrival, watching for elephant families, giraffe, and the park's resident lion prides. Overnight: rest house inside Tarangire National Park, or budget camping. Meals: Lunch & Dinner.

  2. Day 2

    Full Day Tarangire → Lake Manyara Area

    A full day exploring Tarangire, following the Tarangire River where wildlife congregates year-round — prime territory for large elephant herds, with a chance of leopard, lion, fringe-eared oryx, and gerenuk. In the late afternoon you drive on towards Lake Manyara, arriving in time for dinner. Overnight: Lake Manyara area. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  3. Day 3

    Ngorongoro → Ndutu Plains

    Drive up and along the rim of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking in sweeping views of the crater below before continuing west onto the short-grass plains of Ndutu — the epicenter of the wildebeest calving season. A game drive en route offers your first taste of the migration during calving time. Overnight: Simba Camp, Ndutu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  4. Day 4

    Full Day Ndutu — Calving Season Game Drives

    A full day exploring the Ndutu plains at the height of calving season, tracking herds and predator movements — prime time to see newborn wildebeest calves alongside cheetah, lion, and hyena capitalizing on the abundance of prey. A packed lunch keeps you in the field all day. Overnight: Simba Camp, Ndutu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  5. Day 5

    Ngorongoro Crater → Return to Arusha

    After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive across its 260 square kilometer floor — home to an estimated 25,000 large animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and the endangered black rhino. In the afternoon, ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.
