Are the safari vehicles shared with other travelers?

No — every Let\’s Wander Tanzania safari uses a private 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, exclusively for your group. We don\’t combine unrelated travelers into the same vehicle, so your pace, stops, and photography time are entirely your own.

What should I pack for a Tanzania safari?

Neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, tan), a warm layer for early morning game drives, sun protection, comfortable closed shoes, binoculars, and a camera with a zoom lens if you have one. What is the best time of year for a Tanzania safari?

It depends what you want to see. June to October (dry season) offers the best general game viewing with animals concentrated around water sources. December to March is calving season on the Ndutu Plains, with extraordinary predator action. The Great Migration river crossings typically happen July–October in the Mara/northern Serengeti. Arusha → Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha in the morning and drive southwest to Tarangire National Park, renowned for having one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania and a landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive on arrival, watching for elephant families, giraffe, and the park's resident lion prides. Overnight: rest house inside Tarangire National Park, or budget camping. Full Day Tarangire → Lake Manyara Area

A full day exploring Tarangire, following the Tarangire River where wildlife congregates year-round — prime territory for large elephant herds, with a chance of leopard, lion, fringe-eared oryx, and gerenuk. Full Day Ndutu — Calving Season Game Drives

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater → Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive across its 260 square kilometer floor — home to an estimated 25,000 large animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and the endangered black rhino. In the afternoon, ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.
