This six-day private safari combines Tanzania\’s classic northern circuit — Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti — with a genuine cultural encounter most safari operators never offer: a walking safari with the Hadzabe, one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa, at Lake Eyasi.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival — Kilimanjaro to Arusha

    Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your private driver-guide meets you for the transfer to Arusha. Evening at leisure to relax after the flight, with a welcome briefing on the days ahead. Overnight: Ilboru Safari Lodge, Arusha (or similar).

  2. Day 2

    Arusha to Tarangire National Park

    Depart after breakfast for Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and one of Africa's largest elephant populations. Full-day private game drive with a picnic lunch in the park. Overnight: Tarangire Safari Lodge (or similar). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  3. Day 3

    Tarangire to Lake Eyasi — Hadzabe Walking Safari

    Morning transfer to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe. In the afternoon, join a Hadzabe walking safari — accompany the community on a traditional hunt and gathering walk, followed by a visit to the neighboring Datoga tribe. Overnight: Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp, Lake Eyasi (or similar). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  4. Day 4

    Lake Eyasi to Ngorongoro Crater

    Transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive across this UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to an extraordinary density of wildlife including the Big Five. Overnight: Rhino Lodge or Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (or similar). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  5. Day 5

    Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

    Morning drive to the Serengeti via the Naabi Hill gate, with game viewing en route. Afternoon game drive in the central Serengeti (Seronera), famed for its resident lion prides and year-round wildlife. Overnight: Serengeti Acacia Camp or Serena Serengeti Lodge (or similar). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  6. Day 6

    Serengeti — Departure

    Early morning game drive to catch the last wildlife sightings, followed by breakfast and a scenic private transfer to the airstrip or back to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport for departure. Meals: Breakfast.
