The Lemosho and Northern Circuit routes generally have the highest summit success rates thanks to their longer acclimatization profiles. Machame is a strong middle-ground choice. Marangu, while the shortest and only route with hut accommodation, has a lower success rate due to its faster ascent profile. We\’ll help you choose based on your fitness, timeframe, and budget.
No technical climbing skills are required — Kilimanjaro is a trek, not a climb, and no ropes or equipment are needed on the standard routes. What matters most is a reasonable level of fitness, proper acclimatization (choosing a longer route helps significantly), and mental determination, especially on summit night.
Temperatures range from warm rainforest conditions at the base (20–27°C) to well below freezing at the summit, where nighttime temperatures on summit night can drop to -15°C to -20°C with wind chill. Proper layering is essential — we provide a full packing list once your climb is booked.
Our Kilimanjaro packages include park fees, camping/hut fees, a certified guide and support crew (assistant guides, cook, and porters), all meals on the mountain, camping equipment, and transfers to/from the gate. International flights, personal climbing gear, tips for the crew, and pre/post-climb accommodation in Moshi or Arusha are typically not included — full details are listed on each route page.
