More to do in and around Moshi

  • Moshi town and central market: walk the market for fruit, spices and fabrics, and try local food.
  • Marangu village: learn about Chagga culture, banana farming and village life on the lower slopes.
  • Kilimanjaro views: on clear mornings, especially in the dry months, the summit shows above the clouds from town.
  • Mkomazi National Park: a quieter park for guests who want wildlife away from the main safari circuit.

Fitting it into your trip

Day tours work well on the day you arrive, or as a rest day after a Kilimanjaro climb. Most guests combine one or two of them with a safari. Dry months (June to October, plus January and February) give the clearest mountain views.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best time to visit Moshi?

The dry months, June to October and January to February, give the clearest views of Kilimanjaro. The short rains in November and December and the long rains from March to May bring greener scenery, more cloud and muddy tracks.

Can I combine day tours with a safari?

Yes. Many guests add a day tour before or after their safari. Tell us your dates and we will fit it in.

How many days should I spend in Moshi?

One or two days is enough for the main day tours. Stay longer if you are climbing Kilimanjaro.

Do you collect guests from their hotel?

Ask us about pickup from your Moshi hotel when you request a quote.
